Frequently asked questions

We find a lot of patients have the same questions as others. If the FAQs below don’t answer your question, please be sure to contact us. We are happy to take time to set and talk about any concern you may have.

What is the popping or “cracking” sound I hear?2020-12-03T19:34:41-05:00

Sometimes quickly separating joint surfaces with a chiropractic adjustment can release gas within the capsule, resulting in the popping sound. Hearing an audible “pop” does not need to occur to have an effective adjustment.

Do adjustments hurt?2020-12-03T19:34:56-05:00

Chiropractic manipulations are a very controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort due to the use of minimal force and gentle pressure. Most times, patients feel immediate relief following a chiropractic adjustment. Some patients report soreness after their first adjustment which can be very similar to getting back into a gym routine. Drink plenty of water, ice the affected area if desired, and perform your prescribed exercises if you feel sore after your appointment.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?2020-12-03T19:34:25-05:00

An adjustment is a natural and safe procedure that utilizes a controlled force in a specific direction to a spinal joint that is improperly moving or “stuck”.

Should I only go to the chiropractor if I’m in pain?2020-12-03T19:34:05-05:00

Absolutely not, pain is the last symptom to show up! This is why it can take 2-3 visits to help severely acute patients get out of pain. Chiropractic care is great for preventative care and overall health and wellness.

Do you accept private health insurance?2020-12-04T15:04:41-05:00

At this time, we do not accept private insurance since we feel it restricts the services we are able to provide to you. However, we do accept insurance issued debit cards such as HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards.

Can I still see a chiropractor if I previously had back surgery?2020-12-03T19:33:40-05:00

Absolutely! At your first appointment, we perform a comprehensive exam and go over your past medical history to determine which type of care is best suited for you. There are all types of techniques and adjustments to help you feel better.

Why is chiropractic care beneficial for infants and children?2020-12-03T19:33:51-05:00

Excessive force or complications during the birth process can create misalignments in the spinal column and compromise nervous system function. Adjustments for infants and children are incredibly safe since we use a very low force and different technique compared to adults.

Is chiropractic care through pregnancy safe?2020-12-03T19:35:24-05:00

Yes! Dr. Jenna is Webster Certified which means she specializes in treating pregnant patients throughout their entire pregnancy. Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment to ensure proper alignment of the pelvis for a more comfortable birth for both mom and baby.

If I start seeing a chiropractor, do I have to see them regularly for the rest of my life? Is chiropractic treatment addictive?2020-12-04T15:04:28-05:00

No, we will never force you into seeing us. Most regular chiropractic patients seek a chiropractor often in order to manage chronic muscle and joint conditions. Other patients use long-term chiropractic care in order to maintain general health and wellness as part of their overall lifestyle. Our goal is to give you the tools you need to learn how your body works and determine when you feel you need an adjustment.
